We currently have a litter on the ground, The Betty Crocker Delights!
Please note that all breeding plans are tentative and may change depending on the health, well-being, and readiness of our females. Their health and welfare will always take priority over any planned litter.
Preparing for a litter begins long before a breeding is officially planned. At Tara Tollers, careful consideration goes into selecting a suitable sire, with temperament, structure, health testing, pedigree, and compatibility with our female all playing an important role in the decision.
Once a suitable pairing has been identified, patience becomes part of the process. Breeding plans depend on our female's health, timing, and readiness, and even with careful planning, nature does not always follow our schedule. We allow each dog the time and consideration they deserve, never placing a planned litter ahead of their well-being.
As plans progress, we make the necessary preparations for breeding, pregnancy, and the arrival of the puppies. From preparing our home and supplies to planning for the care and development of the litter, every detail helps ensure we are ready to provide a safe, comfortable environment for both mother and puppies.
While we look forward to each potential litter, our priority remains the same: making thoughtful breeding decisions and ensuring our dogs receive the care, time, and attention they deserve at every stage.
As our puppies grow, their individual personalities, temperaments, and characteristics gradually begin to emerge. Around four weeks of age, we start to gain a clearer picture of who they are as individuals. From this point onward, we continually observe and evaluate their temperaments, structure, confidence, and developing traits.
These observations help us understand each puppy’s strengths, needs, and potential, allowing us to make thoughtful placement decisions based on compatibility rather than appearance or personal preference alone.
At Tara Tollers, we select puppies with their future homes in mind. We consider the lifestyle, experience, and goals of each family alongside the individual puppy’s temperament, energy level, and characteristics. Our aim is to create suitable matches that give each puppy the best opportunity to thrive in their new home.
Final placement decisions are typically made between eight and nine weeks of age, once the puppies have developed further and their evaluations are complete. While families may have preferences, Tara Tollers makes the final puppy placement decisions to help ensure each puppy is matched with a home suited to their individual needs and potential.
Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting milestone, and we want every family to feel prepared for the journey ahead. Each Tara Toller puppy goes home with a comprehensive puppy binder containing important records, helpful resources, and information specific to their puppy.
